Featuring Akumal

The Akumal area is one of the Riviera Maya’s most attractive tourist destinations, located approximately 50 miles south of the Cancun International Airport. The area is famous for the abundance of natural ecological diversity. Specifically, it is most noted for its abundance of sea turtles.

Ever becoming more modern and surrounded by booming growth of the coast, the Akumal area maintains its Caribbean laid-back nature and quaint community size. Akumal attracts scuba divers, honeymooners, families…it has something for everyone. Ocean and lagoon front property here are some of the most valuable. Most houses and condos are second homes to foreign buyers and are offered as vacation rentals throughout the year.

North and Central Akumal offer dive facilities, restaurants and beach bars, shops, convenience stores, internet café and other convenient services. Private villas, condominiums, and a few small hotels are scattered over Akumal Bay, Half Moon Bay and Yalkú Lagoon. The Akumal community also consists of smaller private residential areas of Jade Beach, South Akumal, Punta Royal, and Punta Sur. Aventuras Akumal, which offers a handful of services, is nestled on a gorgeous bay between two large resorts.

New residential developments are near completion, such as Yalkú Ha and Sirenis Mayan Resort. For more information on contact our offices. www.american-development.com
